STUDENT SPONSORSHIP

Under this program we financially support the underprivileged students to continue and complete their formal education, learn new skills and take care of their medical needs in extreme cases.

Below are a few basic criterias in order to avail the benefit of this program:

  1. Being an orphan and have no relatives or guardians to support them.
  2. Belonging to a poor / low income family.
  3. To continue with the offered sponsorship, a student must achieve 90% of attendance at school and score 80% marks in each exam.

Before sponsoring any student, the most important criteria we look at is the student’s interest in education.

Sakshi is a very bright student hailing from a very poor family background. She was studying in grade 9 at New English High School, Thane when we first met her. Her name was recommended to us by her school principal when we approached the school to support couple of other students whom we were sponsoring. We immediately took the responsibility of her educational needs after meeting her parents and checking other relevant necessary facts. Since then she never failed to impress us by her academic progress. Like our other sponsored students she too was provided private coaching, books, exam fee, etc. during her SSC year. She scored 86% in her SSC exams and made us proud.

She is still with us and now pursuing her HSC from NKT College. We will continue to support her and more such children until they are self reliant.

Pranay Kamble, ex-student of Gaondevi Vidyamandir School, Thane has been supported by us to continue his education after he completed his grade 8 in that school. We also continued to support him to get through his college admission and further.

Gaondevi Vidyamandir is only up to eighth standard and is run by a Trust that charges bare minimum amount of fee on yearly basis. Mostly the children from nearby community join that school who belong to poor families.

Pranay too belongs to such family background, raised by a single mother who works as a house helper to meet the ends. We helped him to take admission in a reputed school that exempted some portion of the school fee for such students. We approached the school, met the principal to discuss his case. Rest all the necessary expenses like uniforms, books, exam fee, etc. for grades 9 and 10 were paid by us for him to complete his education smoothly. Further when he reached grade 10, we helped him to get private coaching and he passed SSC with excellent score of 71%.

Further he chose Arts faculty and we assisted him to secure admission in NKT College and paid for his books and admission fee.

He has now completed his HSC and pursuing further studies on his own as their financial condition has improved. We wish him good luck for his future prospects.
